    The B2P Bio

    Picture
Chicago native and Base 2 Peak founder, Brian Kirshenbaum, is serious about training and fitness, which is funny, because Brian and the word serious didn't always go hand in hand - well, not professionally, anyway. Some have called  him an "Entertrainer" because he's great at incorporating humor to help people get the most out of their workouts.  "What can I say? Having been a professional comedy magician, I still like to make people laugh - even when they're working out."

In 2002 Brian began working the front desk at Evanston Athletic Club and it was there that he discovered his passion for the fitness industry.  First certified by the American Council on Exercise in 2004, he began training and never looked back.  A year later he earned his CSCS through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.  More importantly he's strength coached runners (and a handful of triathletes) of all distances to personal bests, Boston Marathoners and NCAA Division I/Big 10 athletes.  Brian continues to further his education as he specializes in developing custom strength and conditioning programs for runners and business professionals who he calls, the Athletes of Corporate America.  When he's not speaking or training his athletes, he's probably out running, riding or doing some mad cooking in the kitchen.

    Quotes I like

    • "If you think you can do a thing or you think you can't, you're right."
    • "Your quality of life is in direct proportion to the quality of the relationships you have with the people around you."
    • "We judge ourselves by what we are capable of doing, while others judge us by what we have already done."

    A Few Things I've Learned

    • Taking care of yourself first is not selfish
    • I'm not a calorie counter.  I can look at my plate and know if it's too much, too little or just enough
    • Never underestimate the importance of rest and recovery
