    Flexibility Training for Runners

    Good flexibility allows you run run efficiently and perform your strength and conditioning exercises in a full range of motion.  Being able to do so reduces your risk of injury  both while training and racing.  In this workshop you will learn techniques for:
    • Pre-Workout Dyamic Warm-Up - prepare your body and brain for training and racing
    • Post Workout Stretching - it's not as boring as you think
    • Foam Rolling - the poor man's massage


    Core Strength for Runners

    When you run each foot strike creates three to four times your body weight on impact.  In order to be fast, efficient and injury free, a strong foundation is critical to your running success.  Learn 7 exercises from which all runners can benefit to begin strengthening your core and remain balanced and stable on one leg (unless you hop like  a kangaroo).   Great posture is essential for efficient breathing and arm swing.  More than just your abdominals, your core is comprised of:
    • Abdominals
    • Lower, middle and upper back
    • Hip girdle - pelvis and leg/hip stabilizing muscles
    • Shoulder girdle - shoulder strength and stabilizing muscles
